The deal, in plain words

Every FileQuiet tool does its work inside your browser, free of charge, and shows you the real result before any money is involved. Excel repair: a damaged workbook is rebuilt locally and you preview the recovered rows; only if real data was recovered can you pay $12 (one-time, per file) to unlock the download. PDF redaction: your document's pages are re-rendered locally as flat images with your black boxes burned in, the output is verified (zero text objects, boxes measured black), and you can download a free watermarked sample; $12 (one-time, per document) unlocks the watermark-free file. Email archive export: you open, browse and search your MBOX, OLM or PST archive for free; $12 (one-time) unlocks bulk export to PDF, EML or CSV. Excel sheet unlock: the tool reports which sheets are locked for free; $9 (one-time, per file) unlocks the download of the edit-lock-free workbook. If the tool can't show you a working result, you can't pay us. That is deliberate.

What you're buying

The unlock of one processed file: exactly the file you previewed. For repairs, recovery is inherently partial — the preview and notes state what was recovered and lost, and formatting and formulas may not survive; recovered values are the product. For redactions, the output is a rasterized PDF: text is intentionally no longer selectable or searchable, page count and dimensions are preserved, and the free watermarked sample shows the complete result before you pay.

Redaction responsibility

You choose what to black out. The automatic suggestions are local pattern matching offered as a convenience — they can miss things and they can be wrong, and accepting or drawing boxes, and reviewing every page before sending the document anywhere, is your responsibility. We guarantee the technical property (boxed regions become uniformly black pixels and the output contains no text objects), not the completeness of your selection. We make no claim that any output satisfies HIPAA, GLBA, court rules or any other legal redaction standard.

Refunds

If a downloaded file does not match what its preview showed, email support@shotfold.com within 14 days with your Stripe receipt and we will refund you in full. We don't argue about this.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your statement will show WEDGEWORKS* XLSXFIX (Excel repair), WEDGEWORKS* PDFREDACT (PDF redaction), WEDGEWORKS* EMAILKIT (email archive export) or WEDGEWORKS* XLUNLOCK (Excel sheet unlock). We never see or store your card number.

Sensible limits

• The service is provided "as is"; aside from the refund promise above, our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us for the file in question.
• Use the tool only on files you have the right to work with.
• We may update or discontinue tools; paid unlocks you've already made keep working in your browser and your downloaded files are, of course, yours forever.
